Since I'm no longer posting my images here, I find myself visiting a lot less, for obvious reasons, and I'm consequently having more difficulty keeping up with and commenting on all the art I'd ideally like to.

In future I am likely to be in 'lurk mode', around less and therefore commenting and Faving far less frequently. Many appologies to the great artists here, who really deserve more feedback from me, not less.

Cheers all

I should add to my previous comment that the 'purpose' to which I am referring is not to deliberately antagonize, but to educate.

Count me as one of those disappointed to see your work dropping out of my Favorites. I wish I had downloaded them when I had the chance.

Art can be quite powerful; as you have seen for yourself, yours has raised strong passions (positive and negative) in some, even though we find those people to be sophomoric and objectionable when they are hateful in their rightful criticism. (Rightful here meaning that it is their right, not necessarily that they are correct)

In my view this circumstance has the potential to be very purposeful. A skilled artist and observer such as yourself certainly has the capability to use those gifts to illustrate the vulgarity and ridiculousness of the things your critics hold dear. You already have an advantage in they have spent time viewing and commenting on your art which means they are invested in, and connected to you. You have their attention. You can reach them where another artist may simply be ignored.

I studied Aikido briefly and one of the main principles is to use your opponents energy against them. This has been paraphrased in many ways in the centuries since, but it is no less effective.

You may feel tired and withdrawn right now but I hope that you will take up the fight and find in it a renewed purpose.

best regards,

BB
